Singapore’s preeminent hospital for women and children, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Nu Skin SEA CHF have a common objective to reach out to young patients who do not have the resources to undergo cardiac surgery or seek the treatment they need. This common objective brought the two organizations together to establish a funding project known as KKH - Nu Skin SEA Children’s Heart Fund in January 2012.
Nu Skin SEA CHF also collaborated with KKH to kick start the Pediatric Cardiac Outreach Program where KKH’s medical and nursing team travelled to Myanmar hospitals to perform simple cardiac surgeries for children with congenital heart disease. At the same time the team shared medical and nursing knowledge so as to uplift the standards in Myanmar’s hospitals. One of the main reasons for this outreach program is also to ensure that more of these precious lives can be saved. The first trip has helped save the lives of 8 children in Myanmar.
