Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation

Nu Skin Thailand is the founding country of the Nu Skin SEA CHF initiative. It has partnered with the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation (PCSF) since 1998, a charityorganization that works closely with the Institute of Cardiovascular Disease at Rajavithi Hospital, to increase the number of operations performed on children with congenital heart disease belonging to needy families around the country. In 2014, the foundation performed surgeries on 501 children through Nu Skin SEA CHF.
On 27 October 2014, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation and doctors at the Prince of Songklanagarind Hospital held a health seminar called “We Care” to share about heart disease and vascular health for amongst 88 children and their parents awaiting cardiovascular surgery. The objective of the event is was to honor His Majesty the King and to help children with heart disease receive treatment quickly. Parents had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with doctors to learn how they can postpone the onset of symptoms of heart illness. Nu Skin Thailand staff were on hand at the event to offer manpower support, to organize games and gifts for children, to share general knowledge about heart disease and give out information about expenses related to health check ups. The Heart Center in Songklanagarind Hospital is the center of the southern region for surgeries and medical treatments for all children with congenital heart disease in the southern region.

Over 6000 CHILDREN SAVED

Child Health in Life and Development (CHILD) Foundation Inc.

Nu Skin SEA CHF’s local partner in the Philippines is CHILD Foundation. CHILD is an organization under the Department of Pediatric-Cardiology in the Philippine General Hospital, the country’s national tertiary referral center and teaching hospital. CHILD was formed with the goal of augmenting the much-needed resources of its indigent patients all over the country.

Over 1300 CHILDREN SAVED

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital

Singapore’s preeminent hospital for women and children, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Nu Skin SEA CHF have a common objective to reach out to young patients who do not have the resources to undergo cardiac surgery or seek the treatment they need. This common objective brought the two organizations together to establish a funding project known as KKH – Nu Skin SEA Children’s Heart Fund in January 2012. Nu Skin SEA CHF also collaborated with KKH to kick start the Pediatric Cardiac Outreach Program where KKH’s medical and nursing team travelled to Myanmar hospitals to perform simple cardiac surgeries for children with congenital heart disease. At the same time the team shared medical and nursing knowledge so as to uplift the standards in Myanmar’s hospitals. One of the main reasons for this outreach program is also to ensure that more of these precious lives can be saved. The first trip has helped save the lives of 8 children in Myanmar.

Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Foundation

The IJN Foundation, is a non-profit organisation that raises funds with the objectives of amongst others, to financially assist the treatment and surgery cost of underprivileged heart patients at the Institut Jantung Negara (the National Heart Institute).

The Nu Skin SEA CHF – IJN Foundation Pediatric Heart Surgery/Treatment Project was formed in 2008 to further that cause.

Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur

Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur, via their A-Heart for A-Heart charity program, helps children born with congenital heart defects. The program offers medical intervention for children from low income families.

Nu Skin SEACHF and A-Heart for A-Heart aims to heal more hearts and restore hope for families with children suffering from congenital heart defects.

Yayasan Jantung Anak Indonesia

Nu Skin SEA CHF renewed the partnership with Yayasan Jantung Anak Indonesia (YJAI) on 26 January 2015 to continue supporting children suffering from congenital heart disease. A commitment of RP 4 Billion was made to sponsor children heart surgeries and provide any necessary medical treatment via YJAI. Established in 1998, Yayasan Jantung Anak Indonesia (YJAI) was formed by the partnership of child patient’s parents and doctors at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM). The foundation aims to provide help for the needy children with congenital heart disease. Nu Skin Indonesia entered a partnership with YJAI in mid of 2010.

Heartbeat Vietnam (HBVN)

Heartbeat Vietnam (HBVN) was formed in December 2005 and is one of many programs supported by VinaCapital Foundation. HBVN partners with Vietnam’s top hospitals and surgeons in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hue, and Da Nang to ensure that underprivileged children with congenital or acquired heart disease receive the best medical care possible. As of May 2016, HBVN has given 4,578 children a chance at a new life. With the generous support from many donors, the program is able to continue to grow and save even more lives.
